Facilities

 

APACHE project's research facilities are located in the brand new Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE), which opened its doors in the 2016-2017 academic year, on the Diagonal-Besòs Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with about 3,500 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree students and 400 professors and researchers.

The APACHE's laboratories, as well as those of the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering research team, are located in the Building I of the campus, an 8 floors and 13.202m2 building area  dedicated to top research in the areas of Materials Science and Chemistry. It hosts 8 research groups, one of them being the BBT.

APACHE's laboratories team are equipped with state of the art equipment for plasmas treatments and characterization and for cell culture assays. 

Dr. Cristina Canal acknowledges the funding received from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement n° 714793) for the acquisition of vital equipment for the execution of this project.
