New paper on Free Radical Biology and Medicine

We are excited to share our latest paper on “Osteosarcoma tissue-engineered model challenges oxidative stress therapy revealing promoted cancer stem cell properties”, recently published at Free Radical Biology and Medicine journal.

The APACHE team is proud to share their latest publication: J. Tornín, A. Villasante, X. Solé-Martí, M.P. Ginebra, C. Canal. Osteosarcoma tissue-engineered model challenges oxidative stress therapy revealing promoted cancer stem cell properties. Free Radical Biology and Medicine 164 (2021) 107–118.

In this work, they developed a 3D tissue-engineered model of osteosarcoma to study the effects of plasma-conditioned liquids. Different behaviors between 2D and 3D cultures were observed, reporting for the first time negative effects on cancer stem-like cell subpopulations. These findings will allow to suitably re-focus research on plasma-based therapies in future.
